Mission
crest·fall·en
1. the appearance of an animal, head on chest, after defeat in battle. "They were crestfallen, but still standing." |
ca·bal
1. a usually secret organization of individuals gathered for a purpose. “The cabal is plotting to take over the world.” |
Based in Sudbury, North Ontario, Crestfallen is a theatre cabal with the credo: “New Work, Strange Places.” The group has a specific interest in producing highly theatrical and deeply immersive experiences in non-traditional configurations. The aim is to disrupt the conventional relationship of audience and performer, and utilize the main power of theatre: its very ‘liveness.’ By bringing audience members into seldom seen or threatened sites, Crestfallen hopes to reanimate both a buried history and contribute to the discussion of how we live, love and work in our cities.
